My Awesome Cafe

This would be my second series from my Petzval Experiment. I met Franck Hardy, the founder of My Awesome Cafe by chance and presented him with the idea of doing an experimental photography project with his cafe which was formerly a Chinese medical hall. Franck preserved the most part of it and added his own personal touches of retro-industrial flavour to his cafe. A lot of the furnishings were actually sourced and modified from discarded stuff. One of the most prominent feature of this cafe are the wonderful light bulbs and you’ll see them being featured a lot in this series. This project was shot entirely with the vintage remake of the Petzval 85mm lens mostly on f/2.2 or f/2.8 aperture plates. This project was almost exclusively shot on the CineStill 800T. I did a couple of shots on a leftover roll of a Kodak TRI-X from a previous project but other than that, I tried to keep to the original parameters of this experiment – Petzval + CineStill.
