This series of photos is inspired by French photographer, Robert Doisneau whose most recognizable works is the Le baiser de l’hôtel de ville (Kiss by the Hôtel de Ville), a photo of a couple kissing in the busy streets of Paris.
This series of images is also inspired by the last scene of Giuseppe Tornatore’s Cinema Paradiso. In that scene, Toto inherited a film reel from the town’s projectionist, Alfredo. The reel was a compilation of film clips containing “kissing scenes” censored out by the town’s priest. This is perhaps one of the best “kissing scenes” montage in recent memory.
