Brian prefers photographic reaslism over surrealism in his style of wedding photography. This is the main reason why the concept of photojournalistic wedding photography and documentary wedding photogaphy appeals to him most.
Photojournalistic realism or surrealism?
Without question photojournalistic realism. I'm a strong advocate of photographic realism and authencity. With the advancements and ubiquity in digital manipulation technology these days, otherwise ordinary-looking photos can be transformed to a surrealistic one but I don't believe in that concept. 95% of my work is achieved in-camera with very little post-processing. I like my photos to look exactly the way I remembered it when I captured in st that moment. Digital manipulation that alters the content originality of the photo is an absolute no-no.
